JOB POSTINGThis Position is open to applicants of all gender identities.The burden of proof of bona fide exceptions rests with the EmployerThis position requires Union membership.Job Title: Administrative Assistant (Casual)Interior Community Services (ICS) is a non-profit, accredited, multi service agency providing supported programming to people of all ages. Interior Community Services enriches the lives of individuals and families by providing integrated family support, individual life skills development, and safe, nurturing home environments designed to assist people to live to their potential in the community. At ICS we offer support and services to approximately 1,100 people a day, providing programs from prenatal to seniors. Interior Community Services offers a wide range of prevention and supports to children, youth and family, community living and affordable housing.Job Summary: This role provides a variety of secretarial, clerical and receptionist duties. The responsibilities include greeting clients, answering the phones, taking payments, issuing receipts, answering and redirecting inquiries when required to appropriate contacts, Meals on Wheels administration and other administrative tasks. Prepares correspondence, reports and other documents. Checks source documents, enters data into accounting systems and other databases and maintains a variety of records as required. This position liaises with staff, clients, the public and community professionals. The successful candidate will have a friendly, courteous and professional attitude towards customer service and the ability to be flexible in their schedule to meet the organization’s needs.Job Type: CasualLocation: Kamloops, BCSalary and Benefits

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Diploma or Certificate in Business/Office Administration or related field and 1 year related experience providing administrative support and customer service in a busy office setting.
  • Must consent to a Criminal Record Check which will be reimbursed by the organization upon hire
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency in working with technology and strong skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook email, Word, Publisher, Excel) is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with little supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple demands.
  • Professional and courteous customer service.
