Job Description

We grow with our consumers and offer new brands that appeal to their changing tastes.JOB DESCRIPTIONReports to: Head BrewerType: Full timeGENERAL DESCRIPTION Under the supervision of the Head Brewer, the Cellar Hand is responsible for cleaning and sanitation of equipment, beer storage/fermentation vessels, and the transfer of beer and other products between storage vessels.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the general cleaning, sanitation, and inspection of storage tanks according to company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Responsible for sanitary transfer of product from tank to tank ensuring the protection of product quality.
  • Responsible for periodic cleaning of non-product contact surfaces which can include but not limited to walls, floors, and outer tanks surfaces.
  • Clean and sanitize packaging equipment as needed according to company SOP’s.
  • Identify and report any malfunctions of equipment that could potentially affect production or product quality.
  • Report and maintain accurate sanitation, tank wash and transfer reports
  • Reporting inventory levels of sanitation chemicals.
  • Perform other duties as required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience operating machinery is an asset
  • Experience in a production/manufacturing environment is a strong asset
  • Experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) is preferred
  • Safety Certificates are an asset (Confined Space, Air purifying respirator, WHMIS, etc.)
WORK ENVIRONMENT & REQUIREMENTS
  • Lift and move up to 60 lbs. (standard grain bag)
  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear all required PPE, as per company and Worksafe BC regulations
  • Adhere to all company policies and code of conduct
  • Good communication skills and able to work in a team environment
  • Able to handle exposure to loud noises, wet working conditions. and handling of sanitation chemicals
  • Flexible and able to work day, afternoon including overtime and weekends
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Due to the nature of our business, it is a legal requirement that all employees be at least 19 years of age
