Visit us @ Home | Digital ConvergenceINTRODUCTIONWe are looking for a Development Manager to join the Digital Convergence team, a dynamic consulting firm that provides sustainable technology solutions focused on unlocking customers and enabling employees.The Development Manager role is an essential part of our team and is responsible for overseeing the projects development process, supporting new opportunities and proposal responses, improving client experiences and overseeing the career growth of our team.This position is open to local and/or remote work-from-home in Canada. ROLE SPECIFICSRESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical advisor to management, end users and stakeholders
  • Mentor technical team members in their career growth trajectory
  • Plan and develop project details and estimations (i.e. RFPs, proposals, project budget, cost, duration, resource requirements)
  • Coordinate software development activities through full project life cycle
  • Consult and direct expertise in discovery sessions
  • Assist with development of solutions architecture
  • Provide documentation of solution architecture and technical designs
  • Supervise development team, and manage performance through training/mentoring
  • Lead teams in a multi-skilled, collaborative environment
  • Guide development team to meet all requirements and adhere to quality standards
REQUIREMENTS
  • Deep understanding of web software development with a minimum of 5+ years of programming expertise in the field. While you may not code every day, understanding the context of your team’s work and how to elevate their success is paramount
  • Track record of successfully mentoring and growing other software developers in your previous roles as a direct manager
  • Drupal and Open Source development expert (Including Laravel, Symfony, React.js, and other web/software development frameworks)
  • Experience with the following backend technologies:
    • Docker, Kubernetes
    • CI/CD (Github, Circle-CI)
    • Experience building RESTful APIs
    • Strong understanding of systems and microservices design
    • Understanding of cloud architecture in GCP, AWS
    • Redhat OpenShift experience a bonus
  • Good project management skills that lead and structure thinking
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to present complicated solutions to a nontechnical audience in a simple and logical way
  • Strong understanding of business goals and standards
  • Proven track record of strong performance and contribution to and leadership in high-performance teams
  • Well-versed in agile software development processes
  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
