Job Description

Junior Help Desk TechnicianIf you are looking for an exciting and challenging career in a company that values its people, then we invite you to consider joining our team. We are hiring for a hybrid role of Junior Help Desk Technician and Central Services relief. This entry-level role is designed to support technical troubleshooting for our Firm. The qualified candidate will have basic IT skills as well as experience in all Microsoft Windows environments. They will also have general knowledge and understanding of computer and network hardware. The position requires adaptability and strong problem solving along with the ability to work collaboratively. This position will also be trained and offer relief assistance for our Central Services Department.Duties & ResponsibilitiesHelp Desk Technician (75%)

  • Troubleshooting of basic computer issues and other equipment maintenance
  • Setting up computers and other related equipment for lawyers and staff, including new hires
  • Reviewing new user profiles and access to applications, software, and printers
  • Reviewing IT equipment needs for the office
  • Researching and ordering IT related supplies
  • Records, tracks, and document IT equipment inventory
  • Liaising with our IT Service Provider to answer help desk questions related to software, computers, printers, Wi-Fi, and other equipment
  • Arranging disposal of defective equipment i.e., printers, scanners, computers
  • Managing all Multi-function Printers
  • Managing disbursement tracking systems
  • Assisting the Application and Support Technician on projects
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the Application and Support Technician or Financial Controller
  • Other duties as required
Central Services (25%)
  • Sorting and delivering incoming mail, faxes and courier items and processing of outgoing mail
  • Hand and truck deliveries
  • Processing large copy jobs, scan jobs, and print jobs
  • Knowledge and operation of photocopiers, printers, fax machines and binding equipment, identifying problems, and arranging service calls
  • Inventory and maintenance of office supplies
  • Managing bank deposits
  • Providing reception relief including answering the switchboard and greeting visitors
  • Managing the archives system
Requirements & Qualifications
  • 1 - 2 years of relevant experience
  • Certificate or associate degree in relevant field is an asset
  • Familiarity and understanding of the functions of basic computer hardware and software
  • Sound analytical thinking and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to work productively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external contacts
  • Champions positive working relationships
  • Ability to carry up to 50lbs
