At Lafarge Canada Inc., safety comes first, collaboration matters and diversity is celebrated with people who share our desire to continually make our materials better.Do you have the drive, the skills, and the passion to join usOverview:The Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator will be accountable for improving the efficiency and productivity of Lafarge maintenance personnel and third party maintenance services through good planning, follow up and optimization of all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. The objective is to achieve the set targets for equipment availability/reliability at the lowest optimum and sustainable maintenance cost, in collaboration with all involved departments or sub-departments, following the maintenance guidelines (CIF and MAC) defined by the company.The Incumbent will be responsible for accounts receivable and payable functions and will regularly liaises with operations, estimating, and accounting teams to maintain and build an efficient system ensuring timely and accurate processing of information. You must be able to develop strong relationships to ensure prompt resolution of any queries and avoid disruption of services.Responsibilities:Health and Safety:

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environment areas. Promotes a positive safety culture through leadership by example.
  • Assures that all work orders have the required H&S information, and that all legal requirements (safety, environmental, maintenance) are in the yearly preventive maintenance plan and are executed. Internal controls providing reasonable assurance of effective and efficient operations, including actions to prevent and detect fraud and protect Company resources.
  • Ensures safe work practices by co-workers, employees and contractors in all areas of work, in his or her area of responsibility
  • Participates in plant safety activities. HSMS, COR audits as required.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety rules and country regulations
Housekeeping:
  • Embraces a continuous improvement mentality for housekeeping to eliminate spillages and systemic housekeeping issues.
Environment, Land & Community Relations:
  • Establishes the environment as a priority.
  • Ensures that all mechanical activities are completed in an environmentally responsible manner; ensures all local, provincial and federal regulations are met or exceeded by following Lafarge best practices and that the conditions of site permits are strictly adhered to.
  • Participate, support and respect Plant/Community initiatives. eg: Tours, Open Houses, community engagement, etc.
Critical Tasks: Maintenance Operations
  • Planning and scheduling of corrective and preventive maintenance routines in SAP PM / DMS / E-Maint, DSCQP together with the specific execution responsible.
  • Monitor the realization of the maintenance plans. Follow-up tasks defined on a daily frequency.
  • Assure that special and repetitive jobs come with a standard work order.
  • Innovation and continuous improvement
Financial Management - Planning and Cost Control
  • Promotes a culture of performance. Strives to deliver the best maintenance at the best total ownership cost. Continuously looks for opportunities for improvement.
  • Generates purchase orders as well as third party services contracts, assures that spares and services will be delivered on time. Control of expenses during planning as well during the execution vs. budget and control the inventory level vs target level.
  • Identifies and implements Maintenance cost reduction savings.
  • Performs monthly/weekly variance analysis on major work (actual vs. budget and actual vs. forecast) and uses other cost control techniques to improve maintenance plans.
  • Create purchase requisitions for Vendors & Subcontractors as required
  • Provide upload data for job costing
  • Review coding and approvals when entering receipts
  • Regularly review receipts, invoicing, processing, SAP, Basware, and P2P
  • Reconcile vendor statements to ensure completeness of processing and resolve any discrepancies
  • Ensure terms of subcontract agreements are adhered too including but not limited to insurance, WSBC and safety documents and payment obligations.
  • Run and maintain reports as required
  • Strengthen relationships with existing and new vendors, respond promptly to requests
  • Open and close equipment work orders as required
  • Work closely with the maintenance team for effective reporting of repair costs
  • Monitor and reconcile bulk fuel balances
  • Work closely with the field operations and accounting team to understand requirements and deadlines
  • Ensure that all deadlines and KPI’s are achieved
  • Administer critical documents and ensure the company is good standing with all licenses, subscriptions and service agreements.
  • Other duties as assigned
Operational:
  • Adheres to the Cement Industrial Framework (CIF) Maintenance program; implements, maintains and improves program elements.
  • Supervises contractors directly when required.
  • Actively participates in the RCA process and actively drives improvement in the quality and technical detail of maintenance job plans.
  • Works closely with the other members of the Maintenance, production and administrative departments
  • Works closely and collaboratively with other departments, Production, Quarry, Process, Quality, and Environment.
  • Works closely with Procurement to establish BCC sourcing when possible, competitive TPS contracts, operational supplies and services contracts.
  • Ensure the correct min / max levels on spare parts.
  • Updates BOMs and equipment records when required.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and Plant Development Plan.
  • Participate in the preparation of the Departmental goals and objectives.
  • Provide assistance to others performing other problem solving activities.
  • Recommends procedural improvements to the Mechanical Maintenance Head.
Administrative:
  • Actively promotes a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Administers contractors and supplier contract vendors.
Qualifications:Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or, in the absence of this, a Technologist diploma or trades certificate with significant experience in the industry.
  • Up to 5 years of experience with definition and implementation of preventive maintenance programs and routines
Preferred skills:
  • Knowledge of problem solving techniques (i.e. Pareto Analysis, Root Cause Failure Analysis, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong communicator (both oral & written).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact with plant personnel.
  • Highly motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to achieving organizational and personal goals.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment (co-workers, suppliers, etc.)
  • Well organized and systematic.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Must work well with others.
