The information collected will be used solely to carry out our obligations under the federal Employment Equity Act.Our Kamloops location is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to support our diverse operations. This position consists of shift work that falls on both weekdays and weekends.Based on operations requirements, the successful candidate must reside in Kamloops, BC.Main Functions:The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all facets of aircraft ground handling and aircraft refueling operations, ensuring compliance with the Company’s protocols and procedures. The Operations Supervisor provides leadership and direction to a team of Aircraft Refuelers, and Line Technicians and participates in aircraft ground handling and refueling operations when required. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for administrative and training duties as required.Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence of corporate, departmental, and OH&S policies and procedures.
  • Plan, design and perform aircraft ground handling and aircraft refueling services according to the standards set by Executive Flight Centre and Shell Canada including, aircraft marshalling, loading/unloading, and aircraft servicing as required.
  • Lead a high-performance team to meet and exceed customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure KPI’s and monthly safety and services levels are met.
  • Perform audits on handling and safety as required and involvement in implementation regarding aircraft refueling, tank farm and ramp operations, inclusive of Shell Canada’s safety requirements.
  • Complete and submit incident reports to EFC Safety and Shell Canada, making sure to complete all corrective action items.
  • Provide training to personnel in accordance with EFC and Shell Canada requirements.
  • In the absence of the Base Manager, issue work permits for temporary contractors providing services for Shell Canada.
  • In the absence of the Base Manager, manage work orders for facility and vehicle maintenance.
  • Ensure training records for all staff are up to date.
  • Make sure all customer complaints are addressed and handled professionally, leaving the customer with a positive resolution.
  • Ensure exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service.
  • Communicate changes in policy, procedures, products, services, or any other changes that affect operations.
  • Assist in field maintenance, primarily on the apron and around building entrances for snow clearing.
  • Direct passengers on the apron during aircraft boarding / deplaning.
  • Ensure correct baggage loading information is given to each aircraft operator.
  • Operate all ground service equipment and aircraft refueling vehicles.
  • Plan and prioritize work for self and staff.
  • Determine needs for supplies and equipment.
  • Direct involvement in aircraft refueling and ramp personnel, including recruitment, termination, training, evaluations, overtime and timesheet approval, and other administrative duties.
  • Communicate with Base Manager for any operational issues.
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A certificate or diploma in a related field is an asset.
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry in a similar role is an asset.
  • Minimum two years’ ramp and aircraft refueling experience is preferred.
  • Class 3 or Class 1 license is required.
  • Obtain Shell Train the Trainer qualification within one year of employment
  • Transportation Security Clearance and Driver’s Abstract is requiredas a condition of employment.
  • Previous experience leading and supervising a team is required.
  • Able to lift or move up to 60 lbs as required.
  • Able to analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required.
  • First Aid and CPR are an asset.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Professional, punctual, meticulous, and diligent.
  • Must be able to obtain a Restricted Operator’s Certificate - Aeronautical (radio license) within 60 days of employment.
  • Able to work in inclement weather, overtime, and extended shifts.
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimal or no supervision.
  • Able to work various weekday and weekend shifts.
  • Must have basic mathematic skills, trouble shooting skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • A strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Able to work well under pressure and respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Able to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Able to work collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.
