  • Conduct research for the projects: (i) Methods for big data, sparsity, and environmental thresholds, and (ii) Statistical learning algorithms for high-dimensional non-normally distributed data. Research includes designing analysis, developing data cleaning protocols, conducting analysis including coding, and creating products for academic and general purposes including publishing scientific articles, software, and dissemination through conferences. Other tasks suitable for a research faculty trainee including developing leadership roles to secure additional research funding.
  • Develop supervision skills and gain supervision experiences through the graduate students of the Principal Investigators (Dr. Jabed Tomal and Dr. Mateen Shaikh).
  • Depending opportunities, the fellow may elect to develop and gain teaching experience through teaching a course at the institution for an additional stipend with the approval supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Recent PhD in statistics, bio-statistics, public health or in closely related fields.
  • Research experience in statistical/machine learning, Bayesian statistics, computational statistics, public health and/or genetics
  • Strong publication record
  • Excellent writing abilities and skills
