Job Description

We have an opening for a Red Seal Journeyperson Fabricator/Fitter to join our team. This is a permanent, full time, and hourly position working 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, fitting/joining, and welding industrial equipment.Job Title: FabricatorSetting: IndoorsLocation: Kamloops, BCHours: Monday to Friday / 6:00am to 2:15pm with option for overtimeResponsibilities:

  • Read, interpret and execute shop drawings and bill of materials
  • Layout, advise, and plan sequence of operations based on shop drawings
  • Set up and operate welding equipment and fabricating machines
  • Build, weld, fit and assemble components and equipment
  • Monitor accuracy, verify exactness and build to specifications in accordance with shop drawings
  • Checking work for quality and accuracy
  • Ensure that all fabrication equipment is maintained
  • Work in a safe and effective manner
  • Other duties may be requested by the Company that is consistent with the Employee’s abilities and responsibilities
Candidate Qualifications:
  • Red Seal certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years fitting & fabrication experience
  • Experienced FCAW all positions is an asset
  • Confidence to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to complete essential duties in an efficient and timely manner
  • Proficiency in the use of tools and equipment used in steel fabrication
  • Experienced in sawmill equipment fabrication is an asset
  • Forklift certification or experience an asset
