We value fostering and sustaining an environment of diversity and inclusion where everyone can reach their full potential.WHAT YOU WILL DOOperating within Forsite’s Resource Management and Technology business area, the Strategic Planning Forester will work within a team of senior planners and forest analysts to develop and facilitate planning processes in response to a range of forest land management challenges. This position will require extensive knowledge of forest legislation, policy, and landscape level forest management concepts to provide focused, innovative, and meaningful solutions to our clients. A background in forest operations/silviculture would be a distinct asset.You should have strong problem-solving and written communications skills and demonstrated ability in the facilitation and coordination of planning processes. Depending on the experience of the successful candidate, projects the Strategic Planning Forester may be involved with include Forest Landscape Plans, Integrated Resource Management Plans, Land Use Plans, Access Management Plans, Old Growth Management Strategies, Wildfire Mitigation Plans, Climate Vulnerability Assessments, etc.WHAT YOU’LL NEED
