Bow Valley Park Campgrounds operates numerous provincial campgrounds, private group camps, two camper stores and multiple day use areas. Our areas of operation range from the town of Canmore, Bow Valley Provincial Park, Sibbald Lake Recreation Area and Kananaskis Country.We are seeking energetic, qualified and responsible summer staff! This position is ideal for someone looking to enjoy the outdoors by utilizing the amazing mountainous landscape we have surrounding us. We are located in a strategic location with countless recreation opportunities within a short drive to have the best summer! Successful candidates will work in our campground store located in Bow Valley Provincial Park 6kms from the provided staff accommodations. Staff would be responsible for retail sales of grocery items and camping/household supplies, campground registrations, rule & regulation education, answering phone inquiries, providing visitors with information about the park, stocking shelves, cash handling, store opening and closing, cleaning, and other duties as assigned.Skills: We are looking for personable, self-starting and adaptable individuals for the retail clerk positions. Retail staff work alone or as a pair so applicants must be able to work well in both scenarios productively and efficiently. Previous retail or customer service experience would be an asset. Successful applicants will strike that balance between professional and personable as many of our guests stay for multiple days, creating that opportunity to build rapport and make our guests feel welcomed as well as new guests visiting from around the world. Staff live and and work together so an easy-going nature and ability to work well with others goes a long way.Staff Accommodations Available: Bow Valley Provincial Park is located approximately 45 minutes west of Calgary just off the Trans Canada Hwy . The nearest town is Canmore, located about 20 minutes drive away, while Banff is an additional 15 minutes further west. In the park, we provide staff accommodations at $100.00/ week. Each accommodation is different but you will be provided with a private bedroom and share the common areas such as washrooms, a kitchen and a living area. Satellite TV & wireless internet are available at your own cost. Laundry facilities available onsite. Accommodations are furnished with basic furnishings and kitchen supplies but items such as linens and towels are not provided.Must have own vehicle for personal transportation.Salary: $16.50/hour.Start Date: June 1 2021End date: October 15 2021Requirements:

• 3 Professional references

• Valid driver's license

• Phone and computer knowledge

• Cash and credit experience

• Ability to lift 35lbs

• Availability for day, evenings and weekends

Duties:

• Opening and closing of the retail camping store
• Inventory counting, stocking and merchandising camping store
• Assisting with camping reservations, changes, rules and regulations education
• Check-in and out campers
• Court checks – making sure campers and visitors are adhering to Park rules
• Providing camping and area information to guests including advice for hiking, fishing, biking, climbing etc.
• Cleaning, organizing, painting, merchandising, cash handling
• Cleaning the sites and washrooms on occasion
