Job Description

Whatever path they’re on, we enjoy helping them achieve their goals while they’re helping us achieve ours.Mission Group is seeking a Carpenter/Construction Worker to join one of our high-rise construction projects in downtown Kelowna, BC. The Carpenter will perform all duties related to carpentry on-site as directed by the Site Superintendent. The ideal candidate has a high attention to detail, experience working on residential, high-rise projects and shares our commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.This is a great opportunity for someone looking to advance their career in high-rise construction.What you’ll do:

  • Follow construction plans and schedules
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plumbing / mech/electrical drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moldings and hardware
  • Attend and participate in toolbox and safety committee meetings
  • Assist site teams with carpentry projects, organize, use necessary tools, nailers, saws, etc.
  • Maintain a professional calm, willing, positive relationship with coworkers and subtrades
  • Work with subtrades for back framing
What you’ll have:
  • Minimum 4 years experience in residential construction
  • Diploma in a skilled trade such as carpentry is a strong asset
  • Red/gold seal certification is considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge in building and construction
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Dedication to safety and safe work procedures
  • Able to work long hours and weekends when needed
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to lift and hold 40lbs
