Job Description

Happipad - COOWHO IS HAPPIPADWe are challenging the status quo to tackle Canada’s housing crisis. Every night across Canada, 12 million bedrooms sit empty. It is our mission to make these spare bedrooms available for those who need a place to call home, whether for a couple months or several years.CHIEF OPERATING OFFICERAs the ‘COO’ you will be responsible for overseeing all internal business operations. You have a growth mindset, and take time to understand the problem-solution landscape. You will design and implement the businesses strategies, plans and procedures and set comprehensive goals for overall performance.You will be responsible for leading and overseeing the daily operations of Marketing, Sales, and Product. You are an expert in analyzing and interpreting data and metrics. You will work alongside the CEO in business strategy and growth planning. You are no stranger to an agile startup environment that moves quickly and you are keen to be a part of exciting growth!Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Finance, Product, Operations, Marketing and have a deep understanding of real estate, SAAS, and marketplaces
  • Develop and execute the companys strategic goals, objectives and strategies
  • Key member and decision making on the leadership team
  • Working alongside the CEO in efforts toward achieving the company’s financial goals
  • Assist CEO in fundraising and partnership development
  • Work alongside CTO to plan and oversee product development roadmap
  • Ensure tech systems and applications are affective and recommend process improvements to operations and other key departments where needed to help achieve company goals
  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
  • Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.)
Requirements:
  • Proven track record and experience in business leadership and people management
  • Experience in a senior leadership position in operations (VP or higher preferable)
  • Highly analytical and strategic
  • Experience working in a startup
  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing etc.
  • Demonstrable high competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Working knowledge of IT, security and data protection
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Deep operational leadership experience, preferably within a real estate or marketplace business in the venture/growth stage
  • Experience leading a similar organization through a period of significant growth and transformation in scaling its operations and in achieving improved efficiencies, processes, and outcomes across a range of key operating metrics.
  • You are an agile leader while also being a proven collaborator and relationship builder, who works well with other leaders and the overall team
  • Solid financial foundation with an understanding of financial statements, business case development, and pricing structures
