Job Description

Innovative Earth Inc. is the leading company of Alberta in the stabilized Rammed Earth construction industry. We are hiring Construction Workers for the 2023 season. Dont hesitate to apply.We have projects in BC as well and will be needing workers for a rammed earth project located in downtown Kelowna. This job will be 2-3 months long but there is a potential for future projects around the Kelowna area.Responsibilities for Construction Laborer

  • Assist the manager/supervisor in readying the construction site each day for the current project by preparing materials, tools, and equipment
  • Apply new project instructions for each job and make adjustments as direction by the construction manager or supervisor
  • Wear clean safety equipment, such as ear plugs/muffs, safety glasses, gloves, helmets, and boots that are in good repair
  • Comply with health and safety regulations when operating equipment or walking on the job site even when not on active duty
  • Maintain a brisk and productive pace of activities to complete all assigned tasks within time constraints
  • Leave construction equipment and tools clean, organized, and stored in an orderly fashion after each use
  • Provide assistance to other team members on various tasks if your duties are completed ahead of schedule
Qualifications for Construction Laborer
  • Experience in working with masonry an asset.
  • Experience operating equipment preferred
  • Experience in concrete or masonry work preferred
  • Very familiar with hand tools such as power drills, hammers, and saws
  • Physically fit with an ability to lift up to 80lbs/100lbs with standing endurance
  • An ability to perform repetitive actions using your hands, arms, wrists, fingers, legs, or other body parts
  • Commitment to wearing protective safety gear for heat, noise, and prevention of injury on the job site
  • Desire to work long shifts, usually up to 10 hours, during the day.
  • Good English oral comprehension skills to follow verbal instructions and respond to questions about job tasks
  • Steady hands and ability to balance well even on scaffolding
  • General knowledge of construction operations and procedures preferred but not required
  • Ability to work well with a team of subcontractors and a supervisor
  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) preferred, but not required
Certificates Needed:
  • Standard First Aid (BC, or Alberta with out of province jurisprudence for BC).
  • Fall Protection
  • Skid Steer operation (online course certificate)
  • Telehandler operation ticket (in person course)
Job Types: Full-time, SeasonalContract length: 2-3 monthsSalary: From $25.00 per hourSchedule:
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:
  • Equipment operation: 3 years (preferred)
  • Construction: 3 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
