Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator, who will be responsible for the performance, integrity and security of a database. He/She will be involved in the planning, design, development and maintenance of database, as well as in troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.The database administrator, will need to:

  • Data remains consistent across the database
  • Data is clearly defined
  • Users access data concurrently, in a form that suits their needs
  • There is provision for data security and recovery control (ensuring all data is retrievable in an emergency).
  • Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security
  • Monitor performance and manage parameters in order to provide fast responses to front-end users
  • Install and test new versions of the database management system (DBMS)
  • Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
  • Perform maintenance tasks like checking table space size, CPU and Disk monitoring, system health checks, DB/Table partitioning, etc.
  • Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)
  • Control access permissions and privileges
  • Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans
  • Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
  • Troubleshoot database performance issues and provide RCA
  • Suggest DB performance improvement through query optimization, fine tuning of parameters, etc.
Qualification:
  • 2-3 years of experience as Database Administrator
  • Hands-On experience managing one or more of MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or similar database including activities such as SQL programming
  • Familiarity with the main data manipulation languages and the principles of database design
  • Hands on experience on SQL issues and troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Hands on experience on AlwaysOn and its troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge on Windows issues monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrable experience of working effectively with Clients, Internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication, teamwork and negotiation skills
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $3,500.00-$4,500.00 per monthAdditional pay:
