Position OverviewYou’re passionate about leading our province’s transition to electric transportation and driving benefits for both electric vehicle owners and FortisBC customers generally. To do this, you’re ready to utilize your strategic-thinking prowess to design electric vehicle infrastructure programs and incentives, and lead a team tasked with progressing transportation electrification internally and across the industry. We need your skills and expertise in our EV Infrastructure and Investment Manager role.In this role, you’ll lead FortisBC’s initiatives to encourage and support the efficient electrification of transportation. This includes the deployment and ongoing management of public and private charging infrastructure, influencing policy changes, managing incentive programs, contributing to EV-related regulatory filing, influencing load growth associated with transportation electrification, overseeing quantification and validation of carbon credits related to transportation electrification and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute FortisBC’s strategic vision through regulatory and policy mechanisms. In year 1, you will:Complete our public fast charging site capital upgrades.Implement our fleet and employee charging rebate programs, expected to be approved in early 2023.Lead interdepartmental working groups to promote and manage the growth of transportation electrification.Support Fleet and Facilities with their electric vehicle charging requirements. In year 2, you will:Design, secure funding for, and project manage new public fast chargers required to support growth.Strategize and implement demand management programs for home charging.Apply analytics to monitor electric vehicle (EV) charging load in FortisBC’s service territory. What it takes:A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution, plus a minimum of seven years of experience in the energy or utility industry with relevant work experience in customer service, business development, distribution system design, data analysis, project management, or engineering.Professional Engineer and Professional Technologist designations are considered an asset.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence external and internal stakeholders on strategic direction.Exceptional marketing and business acumen for developing communication strategies and promoting our programs to customers.Great analytical skills to use tools, such as Excel and Power BI, to collect, interpret, and present complex data and achieve impactful results.In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse.
