Recreation and Wellness Supervisor - Fulltime!Shifts:

  • Days 0830 to 1630
Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday
Position Wage & Benefit Summary:Wage:
  • $27.50 per hour- $29.50 per hour
  • Annual Increases

RRSP Match Program as follows:
  • Successful completion of probationary period to end of year 2 - 1 % (base salary plus company 1% match)
  • Commencing 3rd year to end of Year 5 - 2% (base salary plus company 1% match)
  • Commencing 6th Year - 3% (base salary plus company 1% match)
Our residence:The Vineyards Residence is a state-of-the-art five storey, 134-suite residence, offering specialized, enhanced assisted living and memory care services to the Okanagan region.The residence is designed so that it is broken up into distinct cottages, or neighbourhoods, each with only 16 or 17 suites. Activity/common areas are located at the centre of every neighbourhood, so that dining and activities are only ever a few doors away. This also creates a "small home environment" that allows for relationships with a smaller number of neighbours and caregivers, to support structure and familiarity.In addition to all the typical amenities and common areas, the building includes very large suites, in-suite laundry, Surgically Clean Air (to limit the spread of airborne infections), memory boxes, a 5-storey glass atrium, an in-house restaurant known as The Bluff Pub, The Vista Lounge and Dining Room, a gym, therapy rooms, a large bus for outings, balconies with expansive views, and a café- all of which are accessible to all residents.Additional:We hope you will join us in making a difference in the Residents’ every day live!   • Graduation from Recreation Program that is recognized
  • Criminal Record Check, working with Vulnerable Adults

Experience:
  • Working with Residents with Dementia/ Alzheimer’s (preferred)
  • Previous experience (Minimum of 2 years experience) as a Recreation Manager or Recreation background in similar types of settings as The Vineyards Resident
Job Duties:
  • Promoting resident participation in social, spiritual and recreational and wellness programs
  • Developing/planning, coordinating, and implementing all therapeutic recreational programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and cultural needs and interests of the residents in accordance with established goals and policies developed by The Vineyards Residence
  • Organizes and directs indoor and outdoor daily recreation programs including exercise classes, entertainment, crafts and related programs which encourage involvement and independence
  • Assist in setting the objectives and standards required, measuring success of the programs to ensure the required standards are met
  • Following the philosophy of care of the eden approach in care.
  • Provide diverse specialty programs suitable to all residents needs, and unique to each residents allowing their interests to be involved in the community as a whole
  • Encouraging our residents to maintain as much as their independence as possible
  • May be asked to assist with dining service and meal delivery
  • Meet with Residents and families prior to move in and gather social history to help develop the Recreation section of their care plan
  • Complete required electronic documentation for accuracy of resident’s needs were met
  • Provides companionship and always have engagement with residents and promoting a positive environment for our residents, families and team members
  • Performing clerical duties at times, including staffing and delegating tasks if requested
  • Demonstrating knowledge of safety for residents and team members
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
