Job Description

Job SummaryThis position is responsible for working closely with the Branch Manager to develop, manage and grow the OKV Services Department starting with the Maintenance Division as a core primary focus. The success of this role is reliant on building strong relationships, proactively managing workload and developing a great culture amongst internal teams.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a primary point of contact for all summer clients and assisting with winter clients
  • Business development
  • Warm and cold calling to build and nurture local relationships
  • Assist with managing and procuring work for the growth of the services department
  • Assist Branch Manager with budget creation and working/strategizing to achieve that budget
  • Complete/compile documents and reports for Human Resources/Safety as required
  • Assist Human Resources with recruiting, training and safety initiatives as required
  • Manage repairs and maintenance for in-house tools and equipment as well as maintaining tracking system for ordering equipment and supplies
  • Manage the quoting and estimating of projects
  • Review and approve payroll for division(s)
  • Lead the sites in production, training and quality control
  • Complete all pre-season and post-season duties as required
  • Weekly 1:1 Meetings with Branch Manager
  • Assist field teams (branch-wide) as required if shorthanded
  • Complete any additional duties as assigned by the Branch Manager
  • Collaborate with the Director of Services on the Services Proven Processes
  • Attend and participate in local company events and initiatives
JOB SPECIFICATIONSEDUCATION
  • Post-secondary education in industry related topics required
  • Red Seal or Landscape-related certifications (ie: CHT, CLM, ISA) an asset (either completed or working towards completion)
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative role, an asset
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience driving a truck and trailer required
  • Heavy Trailer Endorsement an asset
  • Fall Protection Certification an asset
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, some public speaking is required
  • Strong computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational and tracking skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong knowledge of navigating the Okanagan Valley an asset
  • Excellent map reading comprehension an asset
  • Demonstrated safe driving record an asset
  • Ability to deal with conflict resolution and negotiation an asset
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position requires time sitting using a computer while also being able to stand/walk for longer stretches of time. Bending, twisting, and lifting in excess of 50lbs is required on occasion. Individuals should be in average physical condition to be able to complete the requirements of the position.WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position requires the individual to work in a mostly indoor setting with work occurring inside and some time spent outdoors on site, or training. The indoor setting is a normal office environment while the outdoor setting may require work in extreme heat, cold, rain and wind. This position also can be a hybrid role at the discretion of the Branch Manager.COMPENSATION INFORMATION
  • Starting base wage of $80,000-$95,000 based on previous experience
  • 20 days of paid time off (15 vacation, 5 sick days) - Available immediately and prorated for the first year to start date.
