Job Description

This core belief shapes our learning community and philosophy of education.Kleos Open Learning has had the privilege of providing education since 2004. In 2010 we created a strong focus on supporting families with students who have unique and special learning needs.We are seeking in person, one-on-one support for a Grade 5 student on the Autism Spectrum.This position would be approximately 10-15 hours per week, within the school week and calendar. Preference will be given to those with experience/training in working with students with ASD.You would be required to travel to the students home to implement a program provided from a distance by a BC certified teacher.Our support staff must be professional, caring, flexible, work well with little supervision, participate in a team-based approach, and be comfortable using technology.The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting with the academic program
  • Using the general timetable and direction from the teacher, support the student to complete assigned work.
  • Acquire and organize instructional materials as needed
  • Facilitate learning activities based on outcomes outlined in the IEP, as directed by the Kleos teacher
  • Tracking progress and reporting to the teacher on a weekly basis
  • Attend IEP meetings
  • Communicate with families and teachers frequently
