Job Description

Overview:Peak Cellars is located in beautiful Lake Country, BC, surrounded by vineyards, orchards, and beautiful mountain views. We have finished a major restaurant expansion and are looking for self-motivated and charismatic Wine Educators to join our Hospitality team. With award winning wines and our locally inspired bistro menu, we are passionate about creating a memorable and knowledgeable experience.Description:Reporting to the General Manager, a Wine Educator will greet guests, do vineyard & garden tours, and pour wines according to established wine tasting procedures.Responsibilities:The responsibilities of a Wine Educator include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting guests, and enthusiastically represent O’Rourke’s Peak Cellars brand
  • Describe wines, winemaking techniques, and history/future of winery
  • Give suggestions about food and wine pairings
  • Responsibly pour wine tastings for guests while talking about the brand, varietals, vintages, etc.
  • Facilitate tours of garden and vineyard, and educational seated tastings
  • Suggest and sell wine tasting experiences, wine club and wine products
  • Operate cash register, handle POS transactions using Wine Direct, such as processingpayments/returns/discounts
  • Assist in answering phones for bookings, and creating reservations using Tock
  • Stay up-to-date on winery/wine knowledge and have the ability to multi-task
  • Stocking tasting room and wine fridges
