Join our team, and help recognize a healthy future for your career and for all Canadians.Why this role is importantSUMMARY:To assist with the technical functions of dispensing prescriptions, assist as appropriate in the delivery of pharmacy services and participate in the maintenance and operations of the Pharmacy as described by the Pharmacy Standards of Practice, and to provide superior, timely, and pleasant service to customers.DUTIESamp; RESPONSIBILITIES:Customer ServiceGreet customer promptly and gather prescription information according to StandardsPerform duties in priority according to Role assigned on Role Assignment ScheduleRefer to the pharmacist all clinical inquiriesAccurate dispensing prescription medicationsThird Party adjudication where required and necessarySet realistic customer expectations as to wait timesLocate and cash out prescriptions and any ancillary itemsEnsure customers requiring counseling are referred to the PharmacistMaintain and control the cash register in the dispensaryAdhere to all confidentiality and privacy requirementsADMINISTRATION:Receive new and repeat prescription orders in accordance with Standard Operating ProceduresPrepare and submit orders with the exception of, controlled drugs and narcoticsAdjudicate third party billing, online and manage manual Third-Party AccountsAnswer telephone and refer to a pharmacist when necessaryManage incoming faxes according to Pharmacy Standards of PracticeAccurately file completed documentation as per Pharmacy Standards of PracticePRESCRIPTION WORKFLOW:Assist in prescription preparation to company’s standards and professional servicesData entry for new prescriptions, and managing refill request processingSelect medications to fill prescriptions according to Pharmacy Standards of PracticeEfficiently count or measure, package, and label prescriptions, as per Pharmacy StandardsAccurately enter and maintain appropriate data within the applicable Pharmacy systemsSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:Registered with the corresponding provincial licensing collegeDiploma from a Pharmacy Technician CollegePrevious Pharmacy Experience preferredEffective organizational skills, ability to multitaskProblem Solving SkillsStrong attention to detailWhy work at Shoppers Drug MartActing as consultants, supporting internal customers and the Associate-Owners, you will get experience unique to the retail industry while working for an award-winning national brand.
