The Administrator will work closely with other analysts and administrators to enable, automate, and maintain security design for new application functionality, as well as analyze and revise existing design ensuring that security related deliverables adhere to established standards, security administration procedures or segregation of duties requirements. This role requires a high degree of technical knowledge to resolve problems autonomously and anticipate problems and act to mitigate any risk.   • Coordinates and implements the planning, development, installation, lifecycle, and support of ERP (PeopleSoft) security.
  • Analyzes, designs, and builds processes, reports, scripts, queries, and procedures required for security administration for all ERP (PeopleSoft) modules, workflow, and portal access.
  • Prepares user set up, develops, and applies profiles to control all access to ERP (PeopleSoft) environments while ensuring that security related deliverables adhere to established standards, security administration procedures or segregation of duties requirements.
  • Operates, monitors, reports, and resolves security data integrity as it relates to the ERP (PeopleSoft) applications.
  • Deploys and administers ERP (PeopleSoft) security tools.
  • Develops and performs formal testing of all security related production changes that may require oversight approval outlined in security administration procedures or segregation of duties requirements.
  • Works with the IT Security Operations team and PeopleSoft Administrators to investigate and resolve security-based issues, including infected systems, unauthorized access, and other reported infractions of the university’s information security policies to ensure data is secure.
  • Assists with the gathering, analysis, and translation of business requirements into technical specifications and documentation.
  • Maintains a high degree of the use of computer and server operating systems, software applications, computer networking, and other aspects of information technology.
  • Develops processes to increase productivity and to enhance the efficiency of services available through IT Services. Recommends changes to existing processes to ensure quality planning, implementation, and evaluation. Ensures the efficient use of information service tools (hardware, software) for internal administrative and technology processes. Maintains expert knowledge of IT Services policies and processes.
  • Provides technical support and consultation to units or departments for a variety of information systems. Assists with the identification and resolution of complex application design and maintenance problems.
  • Exemplifies teamwork, collaboratively sharing information with colleagues, managers and other support groups when working on an issue or as a member of a project team.
  • Makes recommendations to team and ITS management regarding services and products relating to new technology. Identifies and recommends new processes or standards as required.
  • Understands, collaborates, and liaises with vendors, IT groups/teams, business owners, and stakeholders.
  • Stays current with all ITS offerings and processes as well as wider technological trends and / or best practices, identifying and pursuing training opportunities as required.
  • After hours availability: required to be available after hours for crash maintenance and technical support for production systems.
  • Undertakes other duties as required in support of the unit or department.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • University degree in computer science or related area combined with a minimum five years experience in a client-service, project-driven, team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise information systems.
  • Experience with relational database design with a demonstrated knowledge of SQL
  • Demonstrated experience with object-oriented application code, experience with App Designer / Peoplecode is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Application Change Management solutions (ACM), experience with Phire Application Change Management is an asset.
  • Demonstrates strong business domain knowledge and understanding of business processes to assist in the design and development of security requirements
  • Experience with Job scheduler systems, experience using Rundeck is an asset.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining ERP (PeopleSoft) security in an enterprise environment using security tools is an asset.
  • Experience with scripting languages including Powershell, VBScript, etc.
  • Familiarity with source control systems and development tools such as Git and Jira.
  • Formal PeopleSoft Administration and/or Security training is an asset.
  • Previous experience in project planning and process development is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including experience in writing technical documentation.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment and to acquire new skills as it becomes necessary.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills in order to assist in systems design / development as well as research solutions for problems that may have no support readily available.
  • Experience working with diverse groups of people in a dynamic environment.
  • Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
