Job Description

What can I expect to do in this roleYou will:

  • Plan, coordinate and implement all components of retail operations and admissions as well as conference and banqueting rental opportunities within the Fort Henry Great Hall and all third-party site food and beverage services, including responsibility for achieving assigned sales targets within this portfolio.
  • Actively seek out and create new business opportunities for both products and services within retail, conference and banqueting services that have a high return on investment.
  • Embody the SLPCs equity, diversity and inclusion principles while interacting with staff and guests.
How do I qualifyRETAIL, MERCHANDISING, CONFERENCE AND BANQUETING MANAGEMENT:You have:
  • Experience with and knowledge in retail, sales and merchandising management, including procurement and inventory management methods; customer service best practices to plan, develop and coordinate retail and admissions operations.
  • Technical experience with and knowledge of retail point-of-sale systems to maintain, edit ad update various point of sale systems, ability to link sales systems with ticketing systems and website to ensure effective online sales.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in competitive venue rental management including banquets and conferencing and contract management.
ANALYTICAL, ORGANIZATIONAL AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS:You have:
  • Demonstrated analytical skills in financial analysis and reporting methods to determine pricing model strategies.
  • Demonstrated business analysis skills to conceive and develop business opportunities for facility rental opportunities, product promotions and initiatives including the evaluation of achievement vs. stated objectives as well as ROI.
  • Organizational, time management skills and demonstrated experience with project management methods to plan, direct, implement and evaluate multiple, concurrent project initiatives from concept to completion within established deadlines, budgets and deliverables.
LEADERSHIP, CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:You have:
  • Strong leadership skills to provide guidance and direction to staff regarding best practices for customer and visitor service; proven ability to provide leadership and motivation to staff.
  • Strong customer service background and experience working in a tourism/entertainment industry to plan, develop and manage banqueting and conference and retail operations.
  • Demonstrated business relationship skills to develop and manage relationships and cooperative efforts to customers renting banquet/conference venue, external suppliers, on-site concessionaires; you have managed stakeholder relationships to successful outcomes.
