Job Description

DescriptionINVISTA (Canada) Company’s Kingston Site located in Kingston, Ontario has an opening for an Operations Supervisor. We are one of Kingston’s largest employers, with over 700 employees dedicated to the production of quality products used in the automotive airbag, and engineering polymer industries. The ideal candidate will have experience organizing work groups, mentoring employees, monitoring their progress, ensuring quality and EHS compliance. Utilizing strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills, the successful candidate will be excited about guiding, training, and supporting their team members align with the Site Vision.What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Create a positive work environment, with a strong culture of teamwork. Ensure an environment that allows open reporting and prompt follow-up and resolution to employee concerns.
  • Lead a team of approximately 20 direct reports. Develop team members with a focus on ownership for results, creative thinking, and economic decision making that is aligned to the companys risk profile.
  • Ensure employees develop skills required to identify root cause and take effective actions to resolve problems.
  • Identify performance gaps and build improvement plans to enhance skill and capabilities within your team.
  • Work closely with other leaders to ensure effective transitions between teams and shifts.
The Experience You Will BringRequirements:
  • Previous experience leading/supervising a team
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment
What Will Put You Ahead
  • 3+ years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Previous experience leading/supervising a manufacturing or operations team
  • Previous experience leading in unionized manufacturing environment
  • Post-secondary education in a technical or technology discipline (i.e. Maintenance, Welding, etc)
  • Able and willing to work rotating 12 hr shifts as required
