If you accept a position at this hotel you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International.JOB SUMMARYThis position requires extensive bartending background as well as management or supervisory experience. While in a supervisory role your priorities will be to make yourself visible and well known to all customers and will be expected to become the “Ambassador” of the lobby bar and “Vu” lounge. This position is multi-faceted. The Bar Supervisor is expected to assist in reaching departmental goals by ensuring the bartending team is following correct protocols whilst ensuring guest satisfaction levels are high and brand standards are consistently met. The Bar Supervisor must create meaningful connections with our regular guests to encourage continued business and assist in maintaining high job satisfaction levels for the rest of the bartending team.KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILTY:Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and report any areas of concern to the Restaurant Manager for follow upCreation of weekly feature cocktails used to reduce overall stock holding of liquor / wine in line with target inventoryCreation of innovative and exciting cocktails to keep our cocktail list fresh and interesting while using our stock efficiently and considering menu engineering with assistance of Restaurant ManagerEnsure proper costing of cocktails with help of Restaurant / Operations ManagerSigning out the appropriate keys for the AquaTerra bar float and locked areas.Ensure that all of the staff on our bartending team are properly trained to ensure they are able to execute Marriott Brand Standards with every guest interaction.Communicate to management team any necessary action logging / coaching to be completed with staffComplete daily bar requisition in line with current target inventory and strict par levelsMaintain overall cleanliness and organization of the barEnsure that all staff are following proper beverage pouring, recording, and preparation protocols to ensure that we are meeting target cost % and limiting waste /over pouringAssist management in creation of new beverage programs / incentives to reach company goalsPerform count of monthly inventory with help from the Assistant Restaurant ManagerClosure of the bar 2 - 4 nights of the weekAct as the ambassador for Marriott Brand Standards for the lobby bar and “Vu” lounge.Train any new evening staff as the designated pm trainerAssist management team in running staff training sessions and semiannual meetingsAll other duties as assigned by the management teamThe above areas of responsibility are not all inclusive and may be amended from time to time.JOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum 2 years previous supervisory/management experience in the restaurant industryMinimum 3 years experience as a bartender in a fine dining atmosphereStrong communication skills and proven leadership skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsSuperior employee relations and interpersonal skillsAbility to handle high pressure situations with tact and diplomacyMust be flexible to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidaysWe will also make accommodation available to job applicants with disabilities in the recruitment process.
