AT ROBINSON- GET HIRED ON ATTITUDE AND GET TRAINED FOR SKILLSWorking at Robinson means that you are part of a team and working towards public safety in the automotive industry. We are looking for positive people who are willing to be coachable, learn production, work rotating shift hours, and be part of a small 8 person crew ensuring responsible packaging and recycling of chemicals used in tire manufacturing. We package recipe bags of dry powder chemicals. In 2023, we will be celebrating our 20th year with our customers, our company is over 50 years old.This is a ROTATING Continental Shift work, 12 hours from 7 to 7:20- 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off. Shifts are days, nights and weekends. Operators must provide their own means of transportation to work and steel toe boots (We provide an annual boot allowance). All other PPE will be provided by us. We also provide uniforms, both the rental and cleaning at no cost to you.Operators start at $19.50 and can advance up to $22.50 based on positions learned and time spent in each production area. We review performance every 4 months for pay increases.Working as part of the production crew, you as one of our Production Operators will assist in various spots inside our chemical production plant. The work is fairly dirty and dusty at times, but you will be trained in proper procedures and safety measures to ensure your well being on the job and there are showers onsite as well. Respirators are required to be worn and the successful hires must be clean shaven to don a tight fitting respirator. We have dust extractions at all production areas and do routine air sampling to ensure worker safety around the clock.MEDICAL INFORMATION: Our workplace is dusty and we work with chemicals, so if you have asthma or skin sensitivities, then we are not a good fit as you will be required to wear a mask and/or respirator at times in the workplace. People who wear contacts must use prescription safety glasses because of the dusty characteristic of the chemicals. We pay for prescription safety glasses each year as well.Job Type / Category*Wear a respirator and Tyvek suit to help with cleaning of machinery between production runs.*Count and place recipe bags into totes. Typical bag weight is 18 pounds and up to 25 pounds.*Read and understand computer terminals and respond to alarms.*Do industrial housekeeping duties.*Work in the Semi- Auto/Manual Room and decant dry chemicals into small weighs bags.*Actively participate in all health and safety training in person and virtually.*Operate a lift truck to move materials and finished totes around. Be willing to learn and coachable to drive a lift truck safely.Required Education, Skills and Qualifications*High School Diploma or equivalent*3 years of prior manufacturing experience is an asset*Health and safety training in WHMIS, reporting hazards, back safety, etc.*Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication, problem solving and analysis.*Ability to work with minimum direct supervision to meet specific objectives.*Computer literacy is mandatory.*Able to work in a dirty and dusty work environment along with groups of people.*Able to work all scheduled continental shifts (Days/Nights/Weekends)*Operate Lift Truck as required (On the job training provided)*Be available for occasional overtime as required.WE MAKE RECIPE BAGS OF CHEMICALS.
