Score. - Becoming excellent togetherDid you dot the i’s and cross the t’s - Personal responsibilityDon’t forget to cut the ribbon - Making a differenceIf you are looking for an opportunity to work with a collaborative, hard-working and dedicated team of professionals and have fun delivering high-quality projects regardless of the project size, we are looking for new talent to join our supportive and dynamic team and enable you to turn possibilities into reality.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAs a member of our Community Development group, and reporting to the Manager of Land Development, you will be working with multi-disciplinary teams on various land development projects based out of our Perth, Ottawa, or Kingston, ON offices. With an entrepreneurial spirit you will be a high achieving, self-starter with demonstrated project management abilities in land use planning. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing municipal and provincial planning documents and providing professional planning input and advice on a wide-range of land development projects;
  • Liaising with municipalities and government agencies concerning development applications;
  • Leading and supporting the delivery of presentations before municipal Committees and Councils;
  • Managing and contributing to projects and coordinating approvals for development projects (e.g., subdivision, condominium, consent, minor variance, official plan amendment, rezoning, site plan, etc.);
  • Producing planning reports/rationales;
  • Project administration (preparing/coordinating/supporting proposals, scope changes, Client and Project Team updates, invoicing); and
  • Reviewing development submissions on behalf of municipal clients (occasional).
Well-suited candidates for the position have demonstrated project management abilities, some supervisory experience, good communications skills, and an appetite to engage with the various Client and Project Team members, and municipal/agency staff, involved in land development approvals. These abilities are complemented by a technical background that enables this individual to be immediately credible with Clients, colleagues, and staff.QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of a university degree in land use planning or related discipline;
  • Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and a full Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP), or candidacy for same;
  • Two (2) years’ experience in land use planning profession, or suitable equivalent;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French considered an asset);
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with clients and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated supervisory/leadership skills including the ability to provide guide and coordinate a variety of technical professionals;
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word);
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, GIS considered an asset; and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle that has valid registration and insurance.
