  • Lead and execute social media strategy while developing, producing, and distributing compelling social and digital media content on, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc., as well as daily management of each social channel and fostering strong online communities focused on events and happenings for the business units within the St. Lawrence Parks Commission (SLPC).
  • Oversee and enhance SLPCs websites in terms of design, content development, management, and maintenance, while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Embody the SLPCs equity, diversity and inclusion principles while interacting with staff and guests.
How do I qualifyMandatory:
  • Valid Ontario Class G drivers licence or equivalent to drive on Ontario highways to attend all historic sites properties on a frequent basis during operating season.
Knowledge and Experience:You have knowledge of and demonstrated experience with:
  • evolving digital media and marketing landscapes to explore best practices and stay up to date with relevant and new platforms.
  • content management, development for blogs, social media, and web publishing.
  • web and/or social media metrics to analyze results of social and digital media initiatives as well as search engine optimization to develop content for best results.
  • competitive intelligence and research.
  • Microsoft Suite programs in PC/Windows environment, User interfaces, browser compatibilities, to ensure optimal delivery of social media initiatives.
  • web page development, including HTML CSS, W3C standards of web accessibility.
  • World Wide Web, including its capabilities, advances, opportunities, and technical requirements to develop and support the creative elements of SLPCs websites.
  • principles, techniques and emerging trends of social and digital media, marketing, communications, media relations, issues management, writing, and editing to develop and lead effective content strategies, plans and initiatives.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:You have:
  • strong oral communication skills to provide advice and recommendations on social/digital media approaches to achieve objectives, liaise with external vendors/advertising agencies.
  • superior writing and editing skills to write accurate specific content aligned with SLPCs brands and marketing strategy.
  • interpersonal skills to collaborate with industry and regional travel partners, participate in meetings to discuss objectives, messages, and audiences.
  • organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
  • planning, project management and coordination skills to manage concurrent projects, schedules and timelines.
  • problem solving skills to resolve quality and delivery issues.
  • creativity and demonstrated successful immersion in social/digital media forums to provide appropriate content and management of initiatives.
Analytical and Research Skills:You have proven analytical and research skills to:
  • develop content for web and social media.
  • identify sources of data, collect and compile information and assess/determine the most effective content to meet the social community needs; to analyze performance metrics for social media campaigns and benchmark to industry trends.
