Reporting to the Head of Security or designate, the Security Guard will be responsible for Investigating internal dishonesty, conducting incident investigations, monitoring CCTV, and responding to emergencies. Monitoring access control, performing site patrols and providing security enforcement to protect life and property of the site. GrowCo functions in a high-security environment, with the safety and security of the organizations employees and confidentiality of customers being of the utmost priority and concern. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, energetic, and able to work as part of a team and at a fast pace.Job Duties

  • Investigate and respond, if necessary, to any reported accidents, thefts, property loss or unlawful activities; know where/when to escalate situations and emergencies.
· Perform interion and exterior patrols.· Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems.· Respond to intrusion, fire, and medical emergencies.· Ensure compliance with Health Canada Cannabis Regulations· Complete incident reporting and conduct internal audits of security equipment and processes.· Protect the site/property from loss due to theft, damage and/or negligence.· Conduct regular site patrols to ensure personal, building, and equipment security.
  • Utilize two-way radio and computer applications for communicating site activities.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements· Valid Ontario security license is required.· Post-secondary education in Police Foundations is an asset (or equivalent education and relative work experience).· 1-2 years’ experience in a related field.· Must be fluent in English (written, verbal and reading) Fluency in Spanish an asset.· Computer literate with knowledge of advanced CCTV surveillance equipment.· First Aid & CPR certification required, Ontario Smart Serve Certified and asset· Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract,· Clean criminal record.· Previous experience with access control.· Must have strong self-management, organization skills.
  • May be required to work rotating shifts with varied hours/day, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Must be able to handle crisis situations efficiently and effectively.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Overtime as required.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Must be able to achieve or have achieved a security clearance as defined under the Cannabis Act.
