Learn more about the top reasons to join us:Why work at the City of KitchenerPosition Overview:Oversee wedding and memorial services at the Williamsburg Cemetery Dedication Centre and provide general customer service.Please note that shifts are infrequent, some shifts will be short notice, and the hours of work will be approximately 4 hours per shift. Most shifts you will be working alone.Responsibilities:

  • Opens and closes facility following established procedures.
  • Reviews instructions provided by management and ensures completion of duties.
  • Sets out food, beverages, set-up of tables (weighing approx. 10-15 lbs)., chairs and other items as required.
  • General tidying such as sweeping, wiping tables, changing table cloths
  • Greets customers, offers assistance
  • Accommodates additional requests and troubleshoots issues as required.
  • Responds to customers’ requests for information pertaining to services and features provided by the Cemeteries.
  • Interacts with the general public, wedding parties, families of the deceased, funeral homes/directors, catering companies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
  • Must have equivalent to partial secondary school education.
  • Must have up to 6 months of related experience.
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be comfortable working in a cemetery environment
  • Preference given to candidates who have technical skills relating to connecting electronic media components and troubleshooting
