Job Description

We are a caring organization with world-class medical professionals, that incorporates state-of-the-art technology with industry-leading procedures to provide best-in-class care for patients.As we rapidly grow our team and locations, GraceMed is looking for a experienced Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians to join our team in Kitchener. Our preferred candidate will have worked in a plastic surgery setting. We are looking for a professional individual with a focus on patient care and customer service.Responsibilities:

  • Checking and preparing supplies and inventory lists
  • Exerting extra care to handle extremely delicate and expensive equipment/instruments
  • Packaging instruments in trays or packages according to procedure
  • Thorough cleaning of the operating room in a quick and efficient manner
  • Maintains cleanliness of the scrub room and maintains segregation of clean and dirty areas
  • Ensures all treatment rooms and OR are stocked with appropriate medical supplies/instruments
  • Assists with discharge of patients after surgical procedure
  • Performing high temperature steam, low temperature ethylene oxide and other forms of sterilization
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a post-secondary certificate up to one year in Sterile Supplies Processing Techniques
  • Proficient in the correct operation of all processing equipment
  • Knowledge of instrument technology
  • Knowledge of sterilization/decontamination procedures/methods
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.)
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently to understand verbal work orders and/or instructions
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines
  • Exercise initiative and good judgement with ability to multi-task
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
