Join us in creating a sustainable future and becoming a protector of tomorrow!The Wastewater Treatment Technician I (WWTT) is an entry level position responsible to SAFELY perform the following fundamental tasks: waste stream sampling, off-loading tanker trucks, waste stream QA/QC, bench testing, and waste stream treat code assignments. The WWTT is expected to have a general mechanical understanding of liquids management. Specifically via hose connection/removal, pump function / operation, and valves management.The WWTT will perform basic chemical analysis such as pH, FOG, solids, ammonia, and flash point. Additional analytical methods may be required based on the facility permit and/or waste stream.The WWTT will operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA requirements, and all local, state and federal laws. The WWTT must be able to safely operate mobile equipment (e.g. yard dog) within the facility boundaries.The WWTT will be expected to become forklift certified.All employees must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check as well as previous employment and criminal history records review.Covanta is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
