Job Description

Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, seeks a Customer Completion Specialist to oversee the punch list documentation of our modular units. Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, Customer Completion Specialist is responsible for the coordination and streamline of inventory and materials documentation within the modular scope. The Customer Completion Specialist will work with the Quality Assurance and Production team to ensure efficient and exact work is completed.Responsibilities (Emboldened are key):

  • Primarily function as data keeper of multiple project specific interface tasks. Control submittal approvals, RFI management, day to day correspondence. Control timing, shipping or supply materials per building, per plant, per site, with organization of supply teams in all areas.
  • Client/Manufacturer point to contact as needed. This is a leadership role to provide direct line of site of the interface of work with timing, between materials needs, punch lists, and completions, by site and all plants.
  • Lead material procurement, inventory and confirmation of materials on hand prior to production according to approved submittals. This will lead to a supply intermediary with the New Purchasing Manager/Buyer specifically focused on aligning Conex and supply by building for site; based upon a plant/site punch list interface document that is standard amongst all locations.
  • Assist with, scheduling, budgeting and implementation of the project. Travel is per site punch list schedule, and plant punch list schedules by building. Travel of 50% is initially required.
  • Assist with the preparation of the schedule of values.
  • Assist with project planning for approval by management. This ties directly to all sites, and all plants for a systematic production and a consistency of those values plant by plant, and site by site.
  • Preparation of project schedules with input from project staff and, if required, assistance from the Scheduling Department; this role interface will be linked indirectly to supply given the current acceptance of Out-of-Stock conditions. Delays cost dollars and our focus with this pivotal role is to have a spotlight for this work, by project and by plant. This is a key role for plant, supply, and site completion success.
  • Direct change orders with client, architects, and engineers.
  • Complete and analyze all required reports
  • Initiate preparation of all subcontracts, purchase orders, requisitions, proposals, etc.
  • Run weekly plant coordination meetings/calls
  • Other duties as assignment by management
Job Requirements:Specific qualifications for the Customer Completion Specialist role include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Building Science/Construction Management preferred
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years onsite commercial construction experience
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • 50% travel to Arizona and Texas plants and job sites
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing construction environment utilizing degree in respective discipline
  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
  • Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
