  • Responsible for ensuring that all distribution products in their assigned geographic area are delivered in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Ensure that independent contractors are trained and provided with the necessary tools to complete their job
  • Reporting into the Distribution Manager
  • This position is unionized
Working Schedule
  • Hybrid: Work from Home and travel to assigned location; Regular work week consists of 37.5 hours Monday to Friday and every other Saturday with another day off. The employee will work in the field for about 3 to 4 days, with a few early starts (4:30-5:30 am).
Duties and responsibilities
  • Ensure that all newspapers, inserts, and other products are delivered on time. This includes collaborating closely with the independent delivery carrier force, as well as depot and service contractors.
  • When necessary, the employee will be expected to deliver newspapers within Waterloo Region delivery area.
  • Recruit new carriers to ensure that all routes are covered, and terminate contracts as needed. Maintain sufficient carrier waiting lists or create new ones.
  • Supervise all daily home deliveries in assigned district.
  • Professionally and promptly respond to consumer complaints, making sure they are addressed and communicated to the carriers.
  • Create and manage carrier promotions to keep the carrier force motivated.
  • Develop carrier routes and new area mapping
  • Fieldwork and managing high-level service issues.
  • Ensure monthly service goals are met.
Qualifications
  • Completion of Secondary Education or equivalent.
  • Exceptional customer service.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Detail oriented and good sense of prioritizing of varied tasks.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable; able to react quickly and effectively to urgent requests and changing priorities.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft applications and strong computer abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and independently.
  • Responsible, self-motivated, and able to function with minimal supervision.
  • Physical activity – walking, lifting up to 50Ibs.
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license required.
