Job Description

CASHIERJob descriptionFresh Food Market offers an assortment of fruits and vegetables, local dairy products, fresh baked breads and other homemade treats. Fresh Food Market also operates a large full-service meat counter. We are passionate about good food and great service and as such this position requires an individual who also shares and displays this same passion!Preferred Requirements:

  • Customer service and cash experience of at least 4 years is a requirement.
  • Approachable and friendly to customers and staff
  • Enthusiasm for food
  • MUST be able to work shifts in the afternoons/evenings and weekends.
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team player
  • Able to respond, react and adapt quickly to change
  • Must be able to provide professional references
Responsibilities: Not limited to but includes the following
  • Provide excellent customer service. Helping customers with any questions or queries they may have.
  • Providing advice or recommendations on our products.
  • Make sure customers have a smooth and efficient check-out process.
  • Ensure till area is clean and sanitized regularly.
  • Handling cash properly and dealing correctly with card transactions.
  • Bagging purchases to ensure safe transportation, starting with heavier items at the bottom.
  • Assist taking groceries out to customers.
  • Ability to be cross-trained in different areas within the store.
  • Working with the team to meet the business requirements.
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $16-$22 per hour depending on experienceCOVID-19 considerations:To keep our customers and staff as safe as possible we require all staff to wear a mask/ shield, to be washing their hands regularly, to be assisting customers at a safe distance and we have installed a plastic screen at our checkouts.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $16.00-$22.00 per hourSchedule:
  • 10 hour shift
Experience:
  • sales: 1 year (preferred)
