Job Description

Company DescriptionFounded in 2012, the Federation of Canadian Secondary Students / Fédération des élèves du secondaire au Canada (FCSS-FESC) is an entirely non-partisan youth-led charity that strives to advocate for students in secondary schools and CÉGEPs across Canada.Job DescriptionThe Human Resources Intern will report to the Executive Director and support talent acquisition, volunteer engagement and policy development in the human resources department. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the revision and development of recruitment, harassment and workplace violence policies;
  • Interview employees, management team and other stakeholders to draw organizational insights;
  • Develop and launch initiatives to improve talent acquisition, reduce volunteer churn and promote volunteer engagement;
  • Provide recommendations on organizational structure and identify potential areas of improvement.
QualificationsAn ideal candidate will have:
  • well-developed research, writing, communication, analysis and presentation skills;
  • attention to detail and results-orientated;
  • ability to effectively determine root sources of issues and propose innovative solutions
  • proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office;
  • enrollment in or completion of courses in human resources management is an asset but not required.
Additional InformationThe intern will have access to LifeWorks, our employee assistance program, which includes clinically trained and certified counsellors that can assist employees with mental and physical health, financial matters, and social well-being.The internship is fully remote with flexible hours and will run from May 22, 2023, to July 31, 2023 (10 weeks).
