Job Description

Founded in 1923 as a family-owned single plant operation, Ontario Die has developed into the world’s leading manufacturer of quality cutting dies. Today Ontario Die International has manufacturing facilities located in Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Czech Republic and China, and serves industries around the globe, but remains a family business.The team is growing and is currently in need of talented IT Specialist to work from our Corporate Headquarters / R&D center who is passionate about all things IT. You will be working alongside software developers and engineers who develop software and automated machinery used in our manufacturing process which is deployed globally.Position OverviewReporting to the Manage of Information Technology, the role of the IT Specialist will encompass all aspects of IT service and delivery.IT Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the IT staff
  • Set IT policy
  • Responsible for Tier 1 desktop support for users onsite and remote
  • Responsible for IT service provisioning (i.e. add/delete users, change of access, password resets, mailbox quota management)
  • Microsoft server and cloud administration (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, File/Print)
  • Review and resolve security center alerts
  • Analyze and review helpdesk performance
  • Microsoft infrastructure (Azure, Active Directory, GPO, DHCP, DNS)
  • Desktop, Laptop and Mobile device troubleshooting
  • Network troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Core Infrastructure build and maintenance
  • Collaborate with other departments and vendors on IT related projects
  • Manage and own small to moderate projects
  • Identify EOL hardware
  • Procure hardware and software
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
  • Prepare reference material for users by writing operating instructions
  • Maintains historical records by documenting system changes and revisions
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge
IT Manager Qualifications/Skills:
  • 1 years managing IT staff
  • Sound knowledge of TCP/IP and basic networking principles
  • Working knowledge of security appliances
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft product suite; AZURE, Active Directory, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Windows 10, and Office.
  • Racking/cabling of servers and network equipment
  • Ability to problem solve and handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively Experience working with end users an asset
  • Flexibility and “can-do” attitude
  • Enthusiastic and pro-active
  • Good Trouble-shooting ability, both with local and remote users and devices
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages (Powershell, Bash, Java, etc.)
  • bonus: second language: Spanish
Education & Experience:
  • University or College degree/diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology
  • A minimum of 3 years’ in IT operations Experience working with following environments: Windows 7 & 10, Windows Server 2012, 2016 & 2019 operating systems, Active Directory, Exchange / Office 365, Network Storage, Azure, Teams & Sharepoint
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting various technical equipment such as servers, switches, laptops, desktops and mobile devices.
