As a CNC Machinist / Boring Mill Operator, you will produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment, tooling, and supplies. Job Description - Including but not limited to: • Program, setup and operate CNC horizontal and/or vertical boring mills • Machine individual steel weldments - drilling and tapping holes and milling of parts • Load part onto machine table using overhead crane, choosing appropriate lifting tackle • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process • Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers or Vernier calipers • Machine parts to specifications using machine tools, boring machines • Measure, examine or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers • Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings or engineering information to determine methods of sequence of operations needed to fabricate products.
