Four Support Staff Regular Part-time Replacement Positions (Part-time Support Staff will be given first consideration)Accessibility Services requires a skilled Computerized Notetaker to assist students that are Deaf or hard of hearing.The incumbent will work up to 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required.Responsibilities:
  • Using a computer to take notes of any conversations, lectures, or verbal communications during scheduled programs hours
Qualifications:
  • Two-year post-secondary Diploma with a minimum of three years of notetaking or related experience
  • An internship in a Deaf Services department is highly desirable
  • Required to pass the Computerized Notetaking Screening and demonstrated notetaking skills at a rate of 70 words per minute
  • Laptop is required
  • Experience working with diverse populations, concentrating on clients that are Deaf or hard of hearing
  • Knowledge and understanding of Deaf culture is preferred
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • This is part-time position requires flexibility based on the assigned student’s schedule
