Support Staff Regular Part-time Replacement Position. This is a “less than 12 months” position with an expected annual layoff of one month.(Part-time Support Staff will be given first consideration)The Part-Time LINC Administrative Assistant provides front-line support to LINC clients, assisting with the registration process and addressing learner needs for information and services. In addition, the incumbent provides administrative/clerical support to the office and assists with the completion of IRCC documentation through the HARTS database.The LINC Administrative Assistant will work up to 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m.Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as this position is scheduled to work on campus five days/week.Responsibilities:
  • Provides administrative/clerical support to the office
  • Processes student registration and responds to inquiries
  • Collects students’ personal information to determine program eligibility
  • Provides explanations surrounding immigration/via regulations, LINC assessments and other College information
  • Addresses learner needs for information and services
  • Maintains information brochures and bulletin boards
  • Acts as a liaison to YMCA Assessment Centre
  • Completes Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) documentation through HARTS database
  • Supports with bus ticket distribution as needed at all LINC sites (Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo)
Qualifications:
  • One-year Certificate in Office Administration or a similar area of study
  • Two years of related practical experience in an office setting preferably in a culturally diverse environment
  • Expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal day to day supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and thorough understanding of an office/school environment
  • Fluency in a second language is considered an asset
