We are currently seeking a Technical Writer to join our team of experienced professionals.As part of our sales team, you will prepare estimates and proposals for our SmartSuite passenger and baggage solutions for airports and airlines. SmartSuite includes a number of specific software products, but the more frequently quoted products are Baggage Reconciliation Systems, passenger and baggage tracking solutions, and bag drop software. See the following video for an actual walk through of an airport with these solutions in operation: https://youtu.be/_-AY6z48CbE.You will draw upon the industry and technical knowledge of our sales team, product managers, and development team to generate estimates and proposals for our SmartSuite group. The ideal candidate will have a technical writing background and excellent attention to detail. Previous airport or airline experience is not required but it is an asset. Your daily responsibilities will include preparing proposals and bid submissions:

• Work with our technical experts to define the solution and create simple and concise proposal content
• Prepare price estimates for design, development, and deployment of solutions
• Write engaging, informative proposals that describe the products that will be provided including executive summary, technical requirements, project delivery plan, high-level project schedule, etc.
• Create architecture / network diagrams suitable for proposals and presentations
• Help prepare bid presentations to support the technical proposal
• Obtain quotes from various suppliers and subcontractors
• Work with the client to manage proposal modifications and/or supplementary write-ups
• Continually improve the quotation and proposal preparation process (Excel tools, Word templates, etc.)
• Participate in update and strategic planning meetings for the Transportation & Logistics sales group

Qualifications Required:

• Exceptional writing skills including an aptitude for understanding and explaining technical information
• Previous experience with airport or airline IT solutions is preferred but not required
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• General understanding of software project infrastructure requirements
• The ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks to meet firm deadlines while still knowing when to engage the sales team
• Proficient using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
• College diploma or University degree in relevant field of study
• This position requires occasional travel
