Headquartered in Kitchener, ON, Canada, Avidbots is a 100% vertically integrated technology company, and offers comprehensive service and support to customers on five continents.About the role within the Avidbots Hardware QA TeamThis role will be in the Hardware Test Team at Avidbots. The teams goal is to perform functional, reliability and performance testing of our products to ensure that our robots have the highest quality and work to our customers complete satisfaction.As a Hardware Test Specialist you will take a hands-on role working with all teams across the company from engineering to production to test and verify the conformance of products to defined specifications. You will be responsible for creating test plans and documenting results.We have set the bar high and expect to meet or exceed it every day. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, who is highly technical, inquisitive and has a very high attention to detail.If that sounds interesting, then we want to hear from you!How you will make a difference

  • Work with the Test Team, Engineering Development, Production, and Customer Support, as required, to design and develop test plans that validate our products meet performance and reliability expectations.
  • Work with all the above departments to develop test plans to verify the functional behaviour of the product and ensure that all elements of the product are “as designed”.
  • Work to document and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain team processes, procedures, and templates
  • Develop and maintain customized testing tools and methods.
  • Maintain testing equipment and tools
Key skills and experience
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical and/or Electronics, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical role (preferably Testing or Quality Assurance) related to high technology electromechanical products.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • You work well with diverse groups of people, technical and non-technical, and are able to function independently of direct supervision.
  • A valid drivers license is required.
  • Awesome attitude, self-driven and self-motivated; you get things done with a passion for continuously raising the quality bar.
Nice to have
  • Experience with robotics.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Google Suite.
  • Previous experience operating or servicing industrial and/or commercial floor cleaning equipment is an asset.
  • Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) and Linux-based operating systems.
