Union: UNIFOR ServiceLocation: Freeport CampusWork Type: Part TimeShift: UNIFOR 2D 2NSummary:The Registered Practical Nurse assists in the co-ordination of total nursing care for an assigned group of patients. The RPN works closely with other nursing staff and patient team personnel, in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within the clinical setting. This position requires 4 weeks of full time orientation. This includes corporate and unit orientation.Responsibilities:The position requires heavy work, involves pushing and pulling moderate and heavy objects, extensive physical movements (walking, crouching). Majority of time spent working with patients with varying degrees of physical and cognitive impairments. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. This position requires work on all units within CCC/Rehab, and can involve movement between units within a shift. This position will also provide coverage to the temporary units at the Freeport site. The successful applicant will be required to complete a two day code white training course.Qualifications:
