Job Description

We are the world’s largest independent testing laboratory specializing in analytical chemistry, in vitro toxicology and microbiology for the nicotine and cannabis industries. We are a certified GLP laboratory with both SCC and ISO accreditation.As a result of our continuing expansion, Labstat has the following employment opportunity available:Sample Preparation Technician (wash up area and validation)Posting #2022-08Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, The Sample Preparation Technician is responsible to ensure glassware in the laboratory has been washed, dried and is available for the Sample Preparation Technicians whenever it is required and to ensure equipment within the SG/SP department is verified.Duties and responsibilities include but not necessarily limited to:

  • Cleaning of laboratory glassware including the operation and maintenance of the dishwashers and drying ovens
  • Assisting with verification of laboratory equipment for the SG/SP group including water systems, balances, barometers, fume hoods, exhaust canopies, CO detectors, vent alerts, etc.
  • The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance to existing project specific requirements, current Test Methods, study plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures and wear required Personal Protective equipment at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Diploma/Degree in Chemistry related program preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to multitask
  • Demonstrate patience/adaptability to change
  • Work with limited supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts (days and afternoons)
