Job Description

Quality and integrity are key drivers behind our success created by hiring valuable talent who uphold these values.Averton is immediately seeking a Service and Warranty Coordinator to join our Customer Care & Warranty department with exceptional organizational and communication skills to join our team. We are only seeking candidates who can demonstrate an ability to organize, and problem solve and with experience in residential new home construction.Job Purpose: The Customer Care and Warranty Senior Coordinator represents Averton to purchasers in many capacities daily. They are responsible for both general correspondence with purchasers, as well as addressing specific obligations such as PDIs, quality control inspections, and Tarion warranty actions. They must maintain expert knowledge of Tarion regulations and Construction Performance Guidelines for the Homebuilding Industry to be able to address warranty service and quality control matters.Qualifications:

  • Coordinate and execute positive key turnover experiences with purchasers, in cooperation with construction project management team
  • Coordinate and facilitate PDIs, service appointments and quality control inspections
  • Conduct all interactions, internal and external, with high attention to detail and in a manner that references Tarion’s Construction Performance Guidelines for the Homebuilding Industry
  • Communicate with purchasers across phone, email, and mail correspondence, conducting these tasks in a manner consistent with Averton service standards for customer service
  • Prepare and deliver homeowner closing gifts and information packages
  • Issue service workorders and POs
  • Schedule deficiency work with trades or Service Technician
  • Review and confirm quality and completeness of warranty works
  • Ensure that all service work is updated on Newstar and internal tracking systems on a weekly basis
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date schedules, tracking systems and calendars for all activities, including service appointments, Tarion warranty forms, PDIs and occupancies;
  • Provide monthly reports to management for each project
  • Utilize Tarion Builderlink to administer warranty forms and enrol homes with Tarion
  • Assist with efforts to release securities (ex. Lot grading, Tarion, etc)
  • Assist with legal claims, and any other related Tarion conciliation matters
  • Work closely with Manager, Customer Care on other initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Tarion regulations and Construction Performance Guidelines for the Homebuilding Industry (other standards and regulations an asset)
  • Experience with Tarion Builderlink portal an asset
  • Experience in residential construction
  • Confidence with MS Word (Mail Merge functions) and MS Excel
  • Post-Secondary education in Construction or Building-related field
  • Experience with Constellation Homebuilder Newstar© suite an asset
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team or independently
  • Outstanding English communication skills, both written and oral
Working Conditions:
  • Head office and Sales Office or Site Office on active construction site – periodically changes and sometimes multiple locations
  • Potential for need to travel within working day
  • Frequent movement through active construction sites
Physical Demands:
  • Light demands on physical strength including carrying boxes or gift bags
  • Occasional walking of unevenly graded terrain
Certifications: Must possess the following certifications and / or available to complete the following certifications, and any others as may be deemed required by Averton or any other governing authority:
  • WHIMIS
  • Working at Heights
  • Violence and Harassment Awareness
  • First Aid & CPR
