Job Description

I am a wheelchair user looking for assistance in my home on Thursday afternoons from 3-5 PM. These shifts do NOT require personal care, and you do NOT need to know how to cook. You just need to be able to take my verbal instruction and apply it (in essence, to act as my arms and legs for 2 hours).WAGE: $22/hour ($19/hour + $3/hour TPP until at least Mar 31, 2022). This is NOT a cash job. I have a bookkeeper that does my payroll, and successful candidates will need to sign an employment agreement and complete TD1/TD1-ON forms for her to deduct taxes.LOCATION: Frontier Dr. in Kitchener (located in the Doon area of Kitchener, just off New Dundee Road near the 401).JOB DESCRIPTION: A typical shift would involve meal preparation for half of the shift. The other half would involve a variety of tasks that would differ from day-to-day. Tasks include, but are not limited to: grocery shopping, laundry, housekeeping (dusting/sweeping/mopping/bathrooms), assistance with filing and scanning things, and other random assistance.REQUIREMENTS: -- On occasion I need to go grocery shopping, so a valid drivers license is required. We would not be using your vehicle for these errands. Rather, you would be driving my vehicle (a minivan) with me going along.-- A certain level of strength is required. There is not a lot of lifting, but you must be able to perform tasks such as sweeping, mopping, bringing groceries in from the car to the house, changing an 18 L water jug on my water cooler, etc.-- The 2 qualities that I value the most are reliability (dependability) and good communication. While days off can be easily accommodated with advance notice, I am looking for people that are 100% dependable and can be counted on to show up for their scheduled shifts. The job itself is not rocket science. If you enjoy movies, music, concerts, or traveling, we are going to get along just fine. : ) If you dont like any of that, I dont know what to say...but Im sure well still get along! I just need to be able to count on you for your shifts.NOT REQUIRED: These shifts do NOT involve personal care. NO experience is required for these shifts. You do NOT need to know how to cook; I will ALWAYS tell you exactly what I want to eat and how to make it.Due to the typically high volume of responses, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. If you are reading this ad, this position is still available. Thanks!James GlasbergenJob Types: Part-time, PermanentApplication question(s):
