Job Description

Premier Project Consultants specializes in building design, project management and development of multi-unit residential and commercial buildings in Canada, the USA and Caribbean. We are seeking a talented and passionate Senior Project Manager with experience managing residential building projects to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating building projects from start to finish while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.Responsibilities:

  • Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
  • Prepare estimates of the cost of materials, labour and equipment for a construction project
  • Perform quantity take-offs, material price lists updating, ordering materials and equipment, organize manpower
  • Establishing and maintaining the tendering(bidding) process
  • Knowledge of modern building construction methods and materials and of the preparation of specifications
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
  • In-depth understanding of residential high-rise construction practices and techniques
  • Interpret architectural, structural and topographic drawings
  • Maintain files of working documents to substantiate the estimate
  • Review the daily progress of the project and ensure it is financially on track and on schedule.
  • Assist with subcontract negotiations and awards under the direction of and with the approval of the project manager by creating and maintaining spreadsheets.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in construction or engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in project coordination in the construction industry
  • Experience with high-rise residential is considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and the divisions of construction
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency
  • Working knowledge of JONAS software and proficiency in other required software such as Procore and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD for estimating and design/drafting
  • Must have means of transportation for site visits
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
