In this variety-filled role, you may also attend meetings with teachers, parents and therapists, and assist with supervision during recess and lunch. After school bus supervision run is included in this position.The position is needed during our academic block, math and reading. Math is a program called Saxon Math. The reading program involves Read Well. Both of these programs are heavily scripted, all that is involved is following the guidelines for that day’s instruction which will be set up in advance by the Primary teacher.Thorough training will be provided in order to implement our reading and math programs with fidelity. Demonstrating teamwork and additional Extra Curricular activities while supporting staff with fundraising events that will include a year-end field trip will be a beneficial commitment in the position.Qualifications:Completion of grade 12, previous experience working with young children, physically capable of performing the job duties, completion of college or university program in the area of school community support, social service, or education assistant is an asset.The ability to work effectively with a full range of students, including students with special needs.
