We are currently looking to fill the position of Chief Electrical Inspector.Accountabilities: The Chief Electrical Inspector is responsible to manage and oversee the electrical inspection program, and provides technical supervision, expertise, and support to both internal and external inspection department personnel. This may include but not limited to the development of policies, procedures, and training materials to ensure the safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness of the inspection program.The Chief Electrical Inspector is responsible for all aspects of the electrical plans reviews process and Service Provider Program. This includes but not limited to the review of electrical drawings for compliance to the CE Code Part 1, and where applicable, associated utility or product standards. You will be responsible to communicate directly with electrical or building contractors, engineers, consultants, and other internal business units to help correlate the connection of customer owned installations to the utility grid.The Chief Electrical Inspector will be required to represent NSPI on technical or other business-related inspection matters with various external industry stakeholders. This representation will require direct liaison with the Department of Labour Skills and Immigration, Electrical Contractors, Electrical Engineers and Designers, Consumers, Standards Development Organizations, and other Provincial or Territorial Inspection Authorities.The Chief Electrical Inspector will also be required to provide support to internal and external stakeholders, as applicable, in the interpretation of Codes, Standards, Acts, and Regulations, to ensure inspection related matters are presented in a consistent and uniform manner. You help team members understand how their work relates to business goals and support the growth and development of your team, all while demonstrating respectful inclusive behavior in a productive work environment.Skills, Capabilities and Experience: As the ideal candidate you are a professional electrical engineer or a certified electrical technologist, red seal construction electrician with 10 years of experience in the electrical industry. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. You have extensive knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code Part 1, CSA Part 2 standards, the Electrical Installation and Inspection Act and the Electrical Code Regulations. You have knowledge of customer owned electrical installations, electrical installations in hazardous locations, renewable energy technology and high-voltage electrical installations.
