This role is accountable for executing email marketing strategies that generate qualified leads, drive conversion & share of wallet, drive customer engagement and support retention. Working with other Marketing leads, the Digital Marketing Lead, Email will generate awareness of the brand and products, in addition to running business as usual direct to customer email marketing calendar campaigns. This role will be accountable for implementing best practices for email marketing and take the initiative to develop technology to maximize efficiency, improve automation, and leverage it to nurture and engage customers via ongoing digital interactions and cross-functional channels.Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for executing email marketing strategies that generate qualified leads, drive conversion & share of wallet, drive customer engagement and support retention.
  • Clear understanding of the power of email automation and marketing aligning skill sets with the company goals. Lead the email/marketing automation strategy and associated marketing, lead generation and sales campaigns end-to-end, including planning, targeting (segmentation), customer journeys, setup, testing, execution, optimization, and reporting.
  • Ability to create emails, design assets and write messaging that outperforms itself for internal and external customers.
  • Working with other Marketing leads, generate awareness of the brand and products, in addition to running business as usual email operations and marketing calendar campaigns.
  • Implement best practices for email marketing and take the initiative to develop technology to maximize efficiency, improve automation, and leverage it to nurture and engage customers via ongoing digital interactions and cross-functional channels.
  • Utilize customer segmentation and data to employ data-driven decision making.
  • Proven knowledge of HTML and CSS across multiple browsers and platforms. Understanding of the latest trends, challenges, and capabilities in the marketing automation and email marketing space.
  • Develop, implement and manage engaging and personalized campaigns delivering high ROI, awareness, traffic and revenue.
  • Own all email marketing strategy, daily execution, development, ROI reporting and budget.

  • Create, measure and execute end-to-end marketing campaigns to drive growth.
  • Work with outside agencies as required
  • Work closely with Canadian Salesforce lead to ensure current Marketing Cloud and Salesforce capabilities are fully leveraged in response to business problems.
  • Build strong working relationships with Sysco Leadership and functional teams including: Sysco Canada Marketing, Healthcare, Regional Marketing Managers, Corporate Social Responsibility, HR, Sysco Connect and Finance
  • Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Sysco’s Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.
  • Assist Food Safety Program Manager in ensuring compliance to Sysco’s Food Safety Program that leads to compliance with third party certification and customer requirements.
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), marketing automation administration, developing and implementing marketing campaigns required (email marketing, SMS/Push messaging, Ad Studio, digital marketing), digital marketing, campaign management, account management, project management or comparable experience.
  • Bi-directional integration of Salesforce Marketing Cloud with Salesforce Sales Cloud and general know-how of Salesforce Ecosystem.
  • Experience with Marketing Cloud Trail Head training is an asset.
  • Worked with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (previously ExactTarget, Content Builder, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, CloudPages, Triggered Emails, Ad Studio, Interaction Studio, Interactive Forms etc.)
  • Familiar with Media Queries, AMPscript, SQL development and design skills with experience in web programming (e.g. HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript) across multiple platforms (e.g. Windows, OSX) is an asset.
  • College diploma or equivalent experience required, Bachelor’s an asset
  • Certifications: Salesforce Marketing Cloud Admin and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud Specialist certification is considered is a high asset.
  • Proficient with marketing automation tools and email management - must have used platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud (previously ExactTarget), MailChimp, Constant Contact, Marketo, STRIPO or similar.
  • Knowledgeable with email marketing, lead nurturing and marketing automation.
  • Hands-on with HTML and email development - familiarity with mobile responsive email templates
  • Knowledge of the latest digital marketing trends and being able to incorporate best practices, UI/UX (user interface/user experience) enhancements and tech advances in the email space.
  • Understanding of legal Consent requirements and SPAM compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of email best practices and regulatory/laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle high-volume, short-deadline projects.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar marketing platforms
  • All relevant Adobe Creative software and technological mastery: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver.
  • Graphic creative knowledge: fluency in understanding and interpreting strategy, creative/campaign briefs and developing initial brand and design concepts. Clear understanding difference of print, email and web environments.
  • Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle may be required, less than 10% travel
