We are currently looking to fill the position of Leading Meterperson.Accountabilities: As a member of the Meter & Inspection Services Team, you will direct and perform the work to install, commission and maintain all three-phase and single-phase meters with or without instrument transformers for metering installations, including all associated documentation, perform meter installation work as required and complete wiring inspections. You must be able to work with customers in difficult situations and work under pressure while still maintaining a high standard of customer service. You will be responsible for the quality completion of metering work while providing guidance and technical advice to the team you lead. You will be required to coordinate with other internal workgroups, and be able to deal effectively with contractors, customers, and the public.You will be required to participate in regulatory training and be willing to participate in on-the-job training or training programs that support the development of additional skills. You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the Environmental Management System processes and initiatives.Regular/daily travel is required. Location of depots to be determined.Skills, Capabilities and Experience: The successful candidate will have either certification as a Journeyperson Electrician with a minimum of five years work experience in the domestic and commercial electrical construction field, or a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology with eligibility for membership with TechNova or Journeyperson Meter Technician certification . Preference will be given to Journeyperson Electricians. You must be well versed with the current edition of the Canadian Electrical Code and NSP utility standards. Experience with complex metering associated with analyzing current and voltage vectors, an understanding of power factor and working knowledge of remote metering communication technology would be assets. You have strong computer skills and be proficient in MS Office Suite. Knowledge of Maximo and G4 Scheduling and Dispatch applications would be an asset. You must be able to work as part of a team with minimum supervision. You must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and be able to work in a safe and efficient manner. You must hold a valid Nova Scotia Drivers License with a minimum of two years driving experience and provide a drivers abstract satisfactory to NSPI.Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
